Derryl Willis
Derryl Willis began his study of Chen style Taijiquan in 1989. Past teachers include Madame Gao Fu, Gao Li Ting and Andy Dale. Since becoming a certified Chen Taiji instructor in 2002, Derryl has taught workshops and classes throughout the Northwest.
His primary focus is Chen family style Taiji but his background also includes Bagua and Yang style Taiji. Derryl is a disciple of Grand Master Chen Xiaowang, the 19th generation lineage holder of Chen family style Taijiquan.
Derryl brings to his students his life perspective, reflective of his family roots in Louisiana, as well as the professionalism gained through his career as a bank executive. His nurturing attitude along with the passion he feels for his art engenders a dedication in his students that allows them to deepen their practice and enjoy a richly satisfying experience.
